my experience

I’ve always been a confident person, always had loads of friends and loved going to all the parties I could. Last year I started University in London and felt like I had to start again from scratch, making new friends and trying to fit in. For some reason I found it very difficult to approach new people and make new friends, and ended up just staying in my room playing on my Xbox.

I got in touch with Keep Smilin and found out I had developed Social Anxiety and started to chat to one of their Buddy’s. My Buddy was really friendly and she really knew how to make me feel better and more confident about socialising. She helped me to realise that the only thing stopping me being my usual self was the way that I was thinking. Now I couldn’t be happier, I have tonnes of friends and even bagged myself an amazing girlfriend who I love to bits :)

Think you're suffering?

You've obviously come here because you're a tad concerned about what you're going through. So, have a look at the information we've got on here and if you recognise any of the symptoms or think you're suffering from any of the conditions then do the right thing and get help as soon as possible so you can get better sooner.

We'd suggest you book yourself into the doctors and go and have a little chat with them about what you are going through, you have absolutely nothing to lose. You want to get better as soon as possible and we want that too so don't put off getting help.

If you are on here because you are concerned about someone else then read our information and try to understand what they are going through and what help is out there. Once you can relate to them you can find ways to help them.
